UCAN
The University of Chicago Medicine Aeromedical Network
UCAN provides rapid helicopter transport of critically ill or injured neonatal, pediatric and adult patients. We transport patients who need to be flown from the scene of an emergency as well as those who need inter-facility transfers, either to UChicago Medicine’s Hyde Park campus or between other hospitals. UCAN can also transport patients by ground ambulance back to UChicago Medicine when helicopter transport is not possible or practical. Ground ambulance services are provided by Medical Express Ambulance Service (MedEx).

MedEx is proud to have played an integral role in moving the entire patient population of the Children’s Memorial Hospital to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
